The Hamilton College women’s hockey team moved up two spots to No. 5 in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll released on Monday, Jan. 30.
The new ranking is the highest this season for the Continentals, who have an overall record of 14-3-1. Last week Hamilton tied 2-2 at then-nationally ranked No. 13 Utica University on Jan. 24, cruised to a 7-1 win against Wesleyan University on Jan. 27, and blanked the Cardinals 3-0 the next day.
Nancy Loh ’23 leads the team with 13 goals, Claire McGennis ’24 has a team-best 11 assists and defender Abby Kuhns ’23 tops the Continentals with 17 points on seven goals and 10 helpers. The goaltending trio of Evie Sheridan ’26, Mac Donovan ’26 and Cate Gallagher ’26 have a combined goals against average of 1.22, a .946 save percentage and five shutouts. All three have made at least four starts. Hamilton has allowed just two power-play goals in 39 chances.
The Continentals are on the road at Bowdoin College for New England Small College Athletic Conference games on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m.
