The Utica Comets (1-2-0-0, 2 points, 7th place in the North Division) battle the Cleveland Monsters (3-3-0-0, 6 points, 4th place in the North Division) for the second time in one week on Friday night with the venue once again being the Adirondack Bank Center. This is also the second of eight meetings this season between the two teams, with the Comets winning the first one on October 21st by a score of 3-2.

The three games the Comets have played so far this season are currently the least amount of games played in the American Hockey League. Their last game was on October 22nd, a 2-1 loss in Providence against the Bruins. The Monsters are also coming off of a loss in their last game, which was a 5-1 loss on the road against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
