Three Hamilton College Continentals were selected for the 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Hockey All-Conference Team on Tuesday, March 1.

Nick Rutigliano ’22 (Upton, Mass./Saint John’s HS) was voted to the first team by the NESCAC coaches. The all-conference honor is his second as he made the second team in 2019. Grisha Gotovets ’25 (Minsk, Belarus/Shattuck-St. Mary’s [Minn.]) and Jordi Jefferson ’22 (Wasaga Beach, Ontario/Trinity-Pawling School [N.Y.]) landed on the second team. They are two of the six forwards on the team.

Rutigliano is one of four defensemen on the all-NESCAC squad. He’s tied for 13th in the conference with seven goals, tied for second with four power-play goals and tied for 13th with 18 blocked shots in 19 games. He also has four assists for 11 points this season. Rutigliano helped lead a defense that is fourth in the NESCAC with an average of 2.2 goals allowed per game.

Jefferson is tied for 19th in the conference with 15 points, tied for 18th with six goals and tied for 20th with nine assists in 20 games. Two of his goals are game winners.

Gotovets is tied for eighth in the NESCAC with 18 points, tied for 12th with 11 assists and tied for 13th with seven goals in 21 games. He’s tied for ninth with three power-play tallies and tied for second with three game-winning goals.

The Continentals have an overall record of 11-9-1, and have advanced to the 2022 NESCAC championship semifinals with a 3-2 win at Wesleyan University on Feb. 27. Hamilton went 9-8-1 in the conference and is the No. 5 seed for the championship. The Continentals play at top-seeded and nationally ranked No. 14 Colby College in a semifinal on Saturday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m.
