The Utica Junior Comets Season Begins This Friday

The Utica Junior Comets NCDC and Premier Teams kick off their season on Friday, September 23rd at the Chelsea Piers Connecticut facility in Stamford, Connecticut against the Connecticut Junior Rangers. The teams will face off against each other on Saturday and Sunday as well.

The NCDC Junior Comets team is coached by Louie Educate, while the Premier Team is coached by Nick Pagliacci (who also serves as an assistant coach on the NCDC team as well). The NCDC team is the higher ranked team of the two, and both the NCDC and Premier teams belong to the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). According to the Junior Comets website, the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) is described as “a 13-team tuition-free junior hockey league entirely located in the Northeastern United States. The league and all of its teams are fully united and dedicated to the mission of player development and advancement to college hockey”.

Besides the NCDC and Premier teams, there are several teams under the Utica Junior Comets umbrella, including 18U AAA, 15 Only AAA, Bantam AA, 2008 AAA, 2009 AAA, Peewee AA, 2010 AAA, 2011 AAA, Squirt AA, 2012 AAA, 2013 AAA, Mites, a Learn To Play/Learn To Skate program, as well as a 14U and 12U Tier 1 Girls Teams. The 18U AAA and 15 Only AAA are also USPHL teams. All of the teams under the Utica Junior Comets program will call the Nexus Center in Utica their home rink when it opens in November 2022.
