Syracuse Orange Women’s Hockey vs Lindenwood Series Preview

By Scott Kinville/315 Hockey.

The Syracuse Orange Women’s Hockey Team (3-7-1 overall, 2-0-0 CHA) got their CHA conference schedule started off on the right foot (or skate if you will) last weekend when they both games in a home in home series against the RIT Tigers. This weekend they continue conference play when they host the Lindenwood Lions (0-6-0, 0-2-0 CHA) at the Tennity Ice Pavillion on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game begins at 6 pm EDT and Saturday’s game starts at 3 pm.

After a rough start to the season, the Orange are turning things around as of late. Two weeks ago they took third place at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Lake Placid, NY, and in the series mentioned above against RIT last weekend, they gave up a total of one goal – winning those games by scores of 1-0 and 4-1 respectively. For their efforts in the RIT series, goaltender Arielle DeSmet was named the CHA Goaltender of the Week (her second in a row), and Sarah Marchand was named the CHA Forward of the Week. The awards didn’t stop there, as Mae Batherson was also named the CHA Defenseman of the Month for October. You can read more about the award winners here: DeSmet and Marchand Earn CHA Honors and Batherson is CHA Defenseman of the Month.

The Saturday game will have a celebratory mood to it regardless of the outcome, as the Orange will have the Ring Ceremony for their 2022 CHA Championship. The series against Lindenwood is also Alumni Weekend, so it will be an extra big weekend for Syracuse. With that said lets take a look at how the Syracuse Orange and Lindenwood Lions match up against each other.
