Syracuse Falls to St. Lawrence in Overtime

Syracuse (2-11-0, 1-2-0, CHA) – 3

Syracuse came up short in a hard-fought back and forth battle between the Saints on Saturday at Tennity Ice Pavilion.

Anonda Hopper got the Orange on the board at 9:24 of the first period assisted by Victoria Klimek and Anna Leschyshyn. The Saints scored at 10:43 and 15:07 to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

Klimek evened the score at 6:16 of the second period with Leschyshyn picking up another assist. St. Lawrence scored three minutes into the third to take a 3-2 lead. Not one to go down without a fight, the Orange battled back and Savannah Rennie scored the tying goal at 11:22. Jessica Digirolamo picked up a helper on the goal.

Unfortunately for the Orange, St. Lawrence won the game on a goal only 20 seconds into the extra period. Allison Small was in goal for Syracuse and finished with 35 saves.
