The Syracuse Crunch training camp for the 2022-23 season began on Monday at the Upstate Medical University Arena in Syracuse, NY. The Crunch is the AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and their head coach is Ben Groulx. Last season, they finished in second place in the North Division and were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are still in their training camp and will be reassigning more players to Syracuse, but according to https://syracusecrunch.com, the players that are currently in the Crunch’s training camp are as follows.
Forwards: Alex Barre-Boulet, Simon Ryfors, Shawn Element, Bennett MacArthur, Felix Robert, Gage Goncalves, Gabriel Dumont, Gemel Smith, Lucas Edmonds, Jack Finley, Grant Mismash, Jaydon Dureau, Ilya Usau, and Daniel Walcott.
Defensemen: Trevor Carrick, Ryan Jones, Jack Thompson, Darren Raddysh, Tyson Feist, Dmitry Semykin, Declan Carlile, and Sean Day.
Goaltenders: Max Lagace, Jack LaFontaine, and Hugo Alnefelt.
The Crunch plays their first preseason game of the season this Friday, October 7th in Utica against the Comets. The following night they return home to take on the Rochester Americans in their second (and last) preseason game. The Syracuse Crunch opens their regular season on October 14th on the road against the Cleveland Monsters, and their home opener is on October 22nd against the Rochester Americans.
