Syracuse Crunch at Springfield Thunderbirds Game Preview 11-16-2022

The Syracuse Crunch (4-6-1-2, 11 pts, 5th place in the North Division) visit the Springfield Thunderbirds (6-5-0-2, 14 pts, 5th place in the Atlantic Division) on Wednesday for the first of two regular season meetings between the teams. The game scheduled to start at 10:35 am EST.

Yes, you read that correctly – 10:35 am.

The unusual start time is due Wednesday’s game being a “School Day Game”. The School Day Game is a partnership between the Thunderbirds, Springfield Public Schools, and local businesses that allows for students to attend the game that becomes an educational setting as well. On the ice, Syracuse and Springfield will be battling to move up the standings in their respective divisions. The Crunch last played on Saturday night which was an 8-3 win over the Utica Comets, and are riding a two game winning streak. The Thunderbirds also last played on Saturday night, and they too were victorious – defeating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by a score of 3-2 in the Penguins home rink.
