The Syracuse Blazers 16U team won the Midget Challenge Cup in Hooksett, New Hampshire over the weekend. They began the tournament on Friday night with a 4-4 tie against the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs.
On Saturday the Blazers dominated the New England Edge 10-0 before defeating the New Hampshire Avalanche 5-2 that evening. In their last preliminary game the Blazers were up against the New Hampshire East Eagles who they defeated 6-3 securing a spot in the championship.
After being down 2-0 to the Easter Massachusetts Senators the Blazers responded with 6 straight goals for a 6-2 victory earning the Challenge Cup.
