Strong Second Seals Raiders Win

HANOVER, N.H. – Colgate women’s ice hockey finished out its weekend road trip with a win over Dartmouth in Thompson Arena Saturday afternoon.

A combined three goal first period started the afternoon off quickly as the Big Green jumped out to an early lead in the first two minutes of play. Kristýna Kaltounková answered the call for the Raiders late in the first period, picking the Big Green defender and rifling one past the goalkeeper. With five seconds left in the first period Dartmouth slid one past Hannah Murphy, taking the 2-1 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders’ offensive dominance paid off in the second period as Tessa Holk went short-side high to tie the game at two apiece, netting her first career goal in stunning fashion.

Danielle Serdachny added her name to the sheet with under a minute to go in the second period, scoring her 44th career goal and the game-winner.

Colgate edged out the Big Green through the final 20 minutes of play, sealing the 3-2 win and moving to 4-1 in the conference and 13-1 overall.

Murphy made 16 saves enroute to her fifth win of the year, holding a career record of 22-3-0.
