ROCHESTER, NY – Erica Sloan (Potsdam, NY/St. Lawrence Steel) of the Utica University women’s hockey team has been named the UCHC Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Sloan had a fantastic weekend to help propel No. 13 Utica to a pair of wins at Neumann. Sloan totaled four goals on 15 shots over the two games including a hat trick in Friday’s 13-0 win. The senior completed the hat trick before the end of the second period with a pair of goals in the first and one at 17:39 in the second. Her goal on Saturday came in a 2-1 game at 5:54 in the third to give Utica separation before the team scored twice more for a 5-1 win.
The team will be home again on Friday at 2 p.m. to host against Lebanon Valley College at the Nexus Center.
