Hamilton College goaltender Evie Sheridan ’26 (Syracuse, N.Y./Northwood School) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women’s Hockey Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 9.
Sheridan backstopped the Continentals to two wins against previously undefeated conference foe Colby College. She made 27 saves, including 14 in the third period alone, in a 1-0 victory on Jan. 6. Sheridan came back the next day and turned away 34 shots in a 3-0 triumph. She has been a part of three shutouts in Hamilton’s last four games.
Sheridan leads the NESCAC with 24.5 saves per game and is fourth with a .946 save percentage. She is seventh in the conference with a 1.41 goals against average in 10 starts.
The nationally ranked No. 6 Continentals (9-2-0, 5-1 NESCAC) have won seven in a row and are third in the conference standings with 13 points. Hamilton hosts No. 13 Nazareth College for a non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 3 p.m., and then Williams College comes to Clinton for NESCAC games on Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7 and 3 p.m., respectively.
