HAMILTON – USA Hockey has announced that Colgate Women’s Ice Hockey senior center Danielle Serdachny has been named a Top-Three Finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award for the first time in program history. The award is symbolic of the most outstanding player in women’s collegiate ice hockey.
Serdachny has accumulated 70 points in 39 games scoring 25 goals and 45 assists. Her points, assists and points per game (1.79) lead the nation, and her 25 goals tie her for fifth in Division I in that category. She has notched the game-winning goal six times this year for the Raiders.
Serdachny etched her name into Colgate history three separate times this season. She now holds the record for career points with 177, career assists with 117, and points in a season with 70. In addition to her Colgate career, she has played internationally for Team Canada in the USA vs. Canada Rivalry series where she scored the overtime winner for team Canada evening the series at two games apiece.
Serdachny and the other finalists will be honored at the women’s Frozen Four on Saturday, March 18 at 12:30 PM at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
The Raiders captain will lead the Raiders into the NCAA Tournament Regional as Colgate will host the winner of Wisconsin/Long lsland University at the Class of 1965 Arena at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11.
