The Pioneers shook off their non-conference lost to Morrisville over the weekend and won their firs conference game 4-1 Tuesday night.
Abby Lillis opened the scoring at 8:02 of the first with an unassisted goal to put the Pioneers on the board. Four and a half minutes later Carolyn Whitney doubled the lead with assists going to Erica Sloan and Georgiana Santullo.
Sloan scored the only goal of the second period putting the Pioneers ahead by a score of 3-0 with twenty minutes left to play. Nazareth got on the board at 1:33 of the third, but that would be the closest they would get in this one. Sloan scored another goal with 25 seconds left sealing the victory. Bria Reilly made a whopping 43 saves in the victory.

Utica continues conference play on the road this weekend with a pair of games in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. On Friday the Pioneers play King’s College at 7:00pm before wrapping up the weekend with a 3:30pm game against Wilkes on Saturday afternoon.
