HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate women’s ice hockey took down conference opponent Harvard in a low-scoring showdown, securing the season sweep.
Elyssa Biederman continued her point streak to 11 games, finding the back of the net late into the second period. Biederman has 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points.
Kayle Osborne notched the win between the pipes, stopping 22 of 23 shots. Osborne moves to 9-3-1.
Danielle Serdachny is five points away from breaking the program record for points in a season after tallying an assist on Kaitlyn O’Donohoe’s opening goal.
Freshman Tessa Holk collected her second career goal midway through the third period, as she pushed the Raiders to a two-goal lead.
— Colgate Women’s Hockey (@ColgateWIH) January 28, 2023 After a scoreless first period for both teams, Colgate struck first after five minutes of play in the second. Senior forward O’Donohoe found the back of the net off an assist from Kas Betinol and Serdachny.
Freshman forward Biederman extended her point streak with a shot between the pads of the Crimson goalie, as she pushed the lead to 2-0.
Harvard answered back late in the second period, sliding one past Osborne to cut the lead in half.
15 minutes into the third-period freshman forward Holk scored her second career goal, as she gave Colgate a 3-1 lead. Holk was assisted on the goal by Sydney Bard and Neena Brick. The Raiders took the two-goal lead to the final buzzer as they secured the 3-1 win.
