SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Colgate women’s ice hockey completed their season series sweep over Syracuse with a 5-2 win Tuesday night at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.

Hannah Murphy etched her name into the record books, as she ended her shutout streak at 146:43, the fourth longest in school history. Murphy secured her 10th win of the season making 15 saves.

Allyson Simpson opened up the scoring for the Raiders, as she fired a rocket in from the top of the circle for her second of the season. Kas Betinol and Danielle Serdachny collected apples on the opening goal. Kristýna Kaltounková recorded a period-high six shots throughout the opening 20 minutes of play.

Colgate Women’s Hockey (@ColgateWIH) January 10, 2023 Dara Greig tore up the second period, banging in her seventh of the season off a dish from fellow junior Kaltounkova. Syracuse potted in their first of the game as they cut the lead to one.

Greig answered back later in the second as she continued her dominate period, as she scored her second goal of the game and 33rd of her career of a give-n-go with freshman Elyssa Biederman

The Raiders continued their dominating play into the third period as Gwen Eichfeld rocketed in her first career goal from the point, pushing the lead to 4-1. Shortly after, Kas Betinol fired in her sixth goal of the season off a pass from Sydney Bard. Betinol has recorded goals in each of the last three games.

The Orange banged in their second of the night but the Raiders held on for the 5-2 win, as they push their record to 18-2-1.
