HAMILTON — Colgate women’s hockey has named its team captains for the 2022-23 season. Danielle Serdachny was selected as captain, while Allyson Simpson, Maggie MacEachern, and Sydney Bard were tabbed assistant captains.
Serdachny earned captain honors after serving as an assistant captain as a junior this past season. Behind 11 multi-assist and 15 multipoint games, the forward finished tied for first in the conference in points with 53. She was also the league leader and tied for third in the nation in assists with 38. Additionally, Serdachny’s +28 rating was tied for third-best in the conference.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has earned multiple honors for her performances. Most recently, she was tabbed ECAC Hockey Second-Team All-League. She’s tallied 106 career points with 34 goals and 72 assists. An Economics major, Serdachny is a two-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team selection and she has also been named to the Raider Academic Honor Roll.
Simpson, a junior defender, had a career-high 20 points by 12 goals and eight assists this past season. She logged two multipoint games, including a four-point performance in the Raiders’ season-opener against RIT. Simpson also helped the Raiders’ defense to five shutouts, recording 49 blocked shots.
A native of Frisco, Texas, Simpson has tallied 51 career points with 16 goals and 25 assists. The Political Science major has been named to both the Raider Academic Honor Roll and ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team twice.
MacEachern notched three goals and nine assists for the Raiders during her junior campaign. She had a standout performance against Mercyhurst on Oct. 1 when she tallied two goals and an assist, helping the Raiders to a 5-2 win. The defender also led the team in blocked shots with 59 and recorded a career-best +17 rating.
Hailing from Brooklin, Ontario, MacEachern has 28 career points by seven goals and 21 assists. A Psychological & Brain Sciences and Educational Studies double major, she is a two-time Raider Academic Honor Roll, ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, and AHCA/Krampade Academic All-Star selection.
Bard tallied 27 points this season with four goals and 23 assists. She ranked 10th overall and first among defenders in ECAC Hockey in assists, while her point total also led the league’s blueliners. The junior tallied five multipoint games, including two contests with three assists. Bard also blocked 27 shots and recorded a + 28 rating.
The New Hartford, N.Y. native earned ECAC Hockey Third Team All-League accolades this past season. She has accumulated 51 career points with eight goals and 43 assists. The psychology major has also been selected to both the Raider Academic Honor Roll and ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.
Combined, the Raiders’ four captains have 211 points by 67 goals and 144 assists in their careers. They helped Colgate win its second consecutive ECAC Hockey Championship this season as the Raiders advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals.
