Raiders Battled Saints in Tuesday Affair – Colgate University Athletics

HAMILTON – Colgate women’s ice hockey tied St. Lawrence in a Tuesday night affair in the Class of 1965 Arena. 

St. Lawrence rallied late in the third with back-to-back power-play goals to force overtime, holding on to collect the 3-3 tie. 

Hannah Murphy moves to 13-1-1 on the season, stopping 34 of 37 shots. Murphy stopped five shots in overtime to help hold onto the tie. 

Sammy Smigliani led the Raiders’ with two points, collecting the secondary assist on Katie Chan’s fifth goal of the season and the primary assist on Neena Brick’s 14th career goal. 

Chan, Brick, and Danielle Serdachny potted goals. Chan opened up the Raiders’ scoring as she redirected one out in front, Serdachny slid one between the pads of the Saints netminder to grab the 2-1 lead midway through the first, and Brick finished off Colgate’s scoring, as she tipped one in off a Smigliani shot to grab the 3-1 lead. 

St. Lawrence went 2-5 on the power play, firing a total of 14 shots on the man advantage. 

Brick led the way on the faceoff dot, as she won a game-high 87.5 percent of her draws.

The Raiders head towards the north country for a pair of in-conference matchups against St. Lawrence Friday at 6 p.m. and Clarkson Saturday at 3 p.m.
