Syracuse will face #10 Cornell in the Orange’s fifth consecutive game against a top-15 team on Tuesday at 6 pm at Tennity Ice Pavilion. It will be Syracuse’s (7-14-1 overall, 4-2 College Hockey America) first game against the Big Red (10-6-2, 8-3-1 ECAC) since 2019 after last year’s game was canceled due to an emergency on Cornell’s campus. The game will be streamed on Cuse.com.

Two Syracuse players are approaching career milestones. Orange goaltender Arielle DeSmet is nearing the 2,000 career save plateau and forward Lauren Bellefontaine is eyeing entrance into the 100-Point Club. DeSmet has 1,968 stops in 78 career games, which ranks 15th in CHA history. Bellefontaine has 96 career points, which ties for fifth on the Syracuse career scoring record list. She will become the fifth Syracuse player in the 100-Point Club.

The matchup with Cornell is the second in a stretch of eight games in 20 days for the Orange. This weekend Syracuse returns to CHA play at Lindenwood (1/20 and 1/21) ant RIT (1/24). The Orange will host RIT on Jan. 25th and then play at Mercyhurst (1/28 and 1/29) to close out the first month of the new year.
