Amherst College’s Natalie Stott made 22 saves and the Mammoths defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 4-0 in NESCAC action at Amherst’s Orr Rink on Friday night.

Season Update

Hamilton – ranked 15th in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll – and the 11th-ranked Mammoths were playing their season openers.

How It Happened

Mary Thompson scored a power-play goal with 7:48 left in the first period. Jayna Park made it 2-0 with 2:57 remaining in the first. Rylee Glennon converted a breakaway opportunity while Amherst was short-handed at 9:42 of the second period. Kate Pohl rounded out the scoring with 6:20 to go in the second.

Notes

The Continentals were 0-for-2 on the power play. The Mammoths held a 30-22 shot advantage. Hamilton’s Maddie Hong ’23 won 8 of 15 faceoffs. Abby Kuhns ’23 blocked a team-high four shots for the Continentals. Hamilton goaltender Evie Sheridan ’26 stopped 26 shots in her collegiate debut. Kelsey Stewart picked up two assists for Amherst.

The teams play the rematch in Amherst, Mass., on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
