NCDC Takes 3 of 4 Points Over The Weekend

The NCDC team was off until Sunday night and Monday afternoon due to the 15U showcase taking place at the Adirondack Bank Center. Roster adjustments continued to pay off as the Comets went 1-0-1 on the weekend. The three points moved them into 8th place.

Utica Jr. Comets (3-5-2) – 3

Tyler Bost made 35 saves and three different players scored en route to a 3-0 victory for Utica. Lucas Kucera scored the opening goal at 9:34 of the first period assisted by Sebastian Heden and Sam Techel. Heden doubled up the lead at 16:34 with an assist going to Kucera.

Sam Techel added the third Comets goal assisted by Adam Brzezicki and Radek Prosek at 13:32 of the third.

Utica picked up where they left off Sunday night getting up to a 2-0 lead through two periods. At 17:52 of the first Walter Baumann scored his first of the season assisted by Donny Borgula. Ole Henrik Arneson then scored his first of the season at 15:45 of the middle frame to double the lead. Borgula picked up his second assist on the goal.

The Islanders battled back and scored twice in the third at 6:04 and 12:52 of the period to force overtime. Once in overtime, IHC scored on their first shot of the extra period 1:10 in to escape the weekend with a 1-1 record. Isak Johansson was in net and finished with 49 saves for Utica.

The Comets travel to take on the third place Connecticut Junior Rangers this Saturday and Sunday.
