Hamilton College

Friday, February 15th

Hamilton 14-7-2 (8-5-2, NESCAC) – 2
Connecticut College 10-9-3 (6-6-3, NESCAC) – 1

Hamilton got out to a 1-0 lead only 4:15 into the game on an Andrea Rockey tally. Jenna Jewell and Kate Piacenza assisted. Taegan Blackwell scored on the power-play late in the second putting Hamilton up 2-0 with 20 minutes to play. Connecticut College got on the board midway through the third on a power-play goal, but Gabrielle Venne (27 saves) shut the door the rest of the way.

Saturday, February 16th

Hamilton 15-7-2 (9-5-2, NESCAC) – 2
Connecticut College 10-10-3 (6-7-3, NESCAC) – 0

Venne made 24 saves earning her third shutout of the season as the team set a program record for wins in a season. The previous mark of 14 was set by the 2016-17 squad. Goals were scored by Rockey and Mya Berretta (EN).

BOX SCORE

The Hamilton win’s paired with two Middlebury losses, moved the Continentals into 2nd place in the NESCAC. They will host Colby College in a NESCAC Championship Quarterfinal game Saturday at 4:00pm. Hamilton beat Colby twice earlier in the year by a score of 4-2 and 2-0.

Morrisville State

The top two teams in the Colonial Hockey Conference sqaured off in a big series over the weekend.

Friday, February 15th

Endicott 16-4-4 (8-2-1, CHC) – 1
Morrisville 14-7-2 (6-3-2, CHC) – 0

Endicott scored the only goal at the 7:26 mark in the second period. Morrisville outshot their opponent in the second and third period (29 total shots) and hit three posts, but failed to find the back of the net. Morrisville goaltender Karoline Arvik finished with 19 saves.

Saturday, February 16th

Endicott 17-4-4 (9-2-1, CHC) – 1
Morrisville 14-8-2 (6-4-2, CHC) – 0

Both teams fired 21 shots against their opposition, but it was Endicott once again coming out on top. Morrisville was down 2-0 until Kylie Cameron converted on a power-play opportunity at 17:42 of the second. The game remained 2-1 until late in the third when Endicott scored an empty netter.

BOX SCORE

Morrisville ended up finishing the regular season in 3rd place behind Endicott and Nichols. Morrisville will host their only home playoff game this Saturday at 1:00pm against 6th place Salve Regina. They defeated Salve Regina 7-1 and 4-1 in early November.

Utica College

Friday, February 15th

Utica College 15-8-1 (11-6-1, UCHC) – 8
Wilkes University 0-14-1 (0-0-0, UCHC) – 0

Elizabeth Dohner scored four straight goals over a period and half as the Pioneers cruised to an 8-0 victory. Georgianna Santullo, Nicole Johnson, Katrina Cornick, and Olivia Hirschy were the other goal scorers. Savannah Gutierrez stopped all 6 shots she faced. Utica fired 73 shots on the Wilkes goaltender.

Saturday, February 16th

Utica College 16-8-1 (11-6-1, UCHC) – 3
Wilkes University 0-15-1 (0-0-0, UCHC) – 0

Despite putting 66 shots on net, the Pioneers were only able to score three times. Bria Reilly made 9 saves in goal for Utica. Caley Susitti, Santullo, and Noelle Capriglione scored for Utica.

BOX SCORE

Utica finished in 5th in the UCHC, which means they will travel to play #4 Manhattanville Saturday at 3:00pm. The season series is split with Manhattanville winning 2-1 and Utica winning the next afternoon 2-0.
