Kate Piacenza scored twice in the second period and Gabrielle Venne stopped all 33 shots she faced earning her first collegiate shutout.
Saturday, February 2nd
Bowdoin 3-16-1 (2-10-0, NESCAC) – 2
Hamilton 12-6-2 (6-4-2, NESCAC) – 3
Nancy Loh scored an unassisted first period goal followed by a Mya Berretta power-play goal in the second to give Hamilton a 2-0 lead. Bowdoin scored two power-play goals of their own tying the game at two just before the second intermission. Alayna Trice scored the game-winner at 6:16 of the third assisted by Lexi Takashima and Jess Haviland. Venne was in net once again, making 26 saves in her fourth win of the season.
Hamilton plays their last two regular season home games this weekend as they host Amherst at 7:00pm Friday and 3:00pm Saturday.
Morrisville State
Friday, February 1st
SUNY Canton 9-8-3 (4-3-0, CHC) – 1
Morrisville 12-6-1 (4-2-1, CHC) – 2
Mackenzie Lombardi and Kylie Cameron (short-handed) scored for the Mustangs en route to a 2-1 win over SUNY Canton. The win put Morrisville on sole possession of second place in the CHC. Karoline Arvik made 17 saves.
Saturday, February 2nd
SUNY Canton 9-8-4 (4-3-1, CHC) – 1
Morrisville 12-6-2 (4-2-2, CHC) – 1
SUNY Canton scored first to take a 1-0 lead at 15:35 of the second. The lead would stand for about ten minutes until the 6:36 mark of the third when Cameron found the back of the net for the home team. Arvik made 15 saves.
Morrisville travels to Becker this weekend for two more conference games. Game time is scheduled for 7:05pm Friday and 3:45pm Saturday.
Utica College
Saturday, February 2nd
William Smith 13-6-1 (11-3-1, UCHC) – 3
Utica 14-5-1 (11-3-1, UCHC) – 3
William Smith jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Olivia Hirschy scored a power-play goal at 12:06 of the second cutting the lead to one goal. However, halfway through the third William Smith regained their two goal lead, but not for long. Hirschy scored her second of the game 30 seconds later. With the net empty and the extra attached on the ice, Georgiana Santullo scored the game tying goal at 19:07 assisted by Kayla Dion and Hirschy. Savannah Gutierrez was in net and stopped 21 shots.
Sunday, February 3rd
Utica 14-6-1 (11-4-1, UCHC) – 1
William Smith 14-6-1 (12-3-1, UCHC) – 2
William Smith scored two power-play goals and Ricki Haab scored the lone Pioneers goal in this one. Ryann Stripp stopped 33 shots in net. The loss allowed William Smith to move into second place in the UCHC.
The Pioneers have a home-and-home with first place Elmira this weekend to wrap up their UCHC schedule. UC will be home Friday at 2:00pm and in Elmira Saturday for a 3:00pm start.
