Hamilton 7-3-0 (3-1-0, NESCAC) – 7
Hamilton opened the second half of their season in dominating fashion with a 7-2 victory over Buffalo State at the St. Michael’s Classic in Burlington, VT. Nancy Loh scored twice and added two assists in the win.
Hamilton went 3-for-7 on the power-play and also received goals from Kate Piacenza, Timary Malley, Andrea Rockey, Missy Segall and Alayna Trice. Gabrielle Venne stopped 15 shots earning the victory in her first collegiate start.
Saturday, January 5th
Southern Maine 4-6-4 (3-4-2, NEHC) – 0
Hamilton 8-3-0 (3-1-0, NESCAC) – 5
The Continentals received goals from five different players to win the 2019 Saint Michael’s College Delta Hotels Burlington Ice Hockey Classic championship. Kelli Mackey recorded 3 assists and goaltender Gabrielle Venne made six saves to earn her first collegiate shutout as well.
Michaela Giuttari, Missy Segall, Kate Piacenza, Maddie Beitler and Nancy Loh all scored for the Continentals who held a 53-6 shot advantage. After two period Hamilton was up 2-0, but the floodgates opened in the third with the eventual tourney champs scoring three times.
Hamilton remains on the road next weekend when they travel to Trinity College for two NESCAC games, followed by a trip to Morrisville State on Tuesday, January 15th.
Morrisville State
Morrisville does not return to the ice until Tuesday, January 15th when they welcome Hamilton College to the IcePlex.
Utica College
The Lady Pioneers host Manhattanville Tuesday, January 8th and Wednesday the 9th for a two-game series to kick off their second half of the season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm Tuesday and 2:00pm Wednesday.
