N. Bull, McQuade and Schell Sweep SUNYAC Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oswego teammates Noah BullCal Schell, and Matt McQuade have been selected as the SUNYAC Men’s Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

In the Lakers 2022 Best Western Clarion Oswego Hockey Classic, Bull had a career-high game against the Hawks of Saint Anselm. With the contest tied at two a side in the third period, junior forward Bull had already recorded the Lakers’ first goal. Oswego scored four goals in less than six minutes in the final period of the opening game of their home tournament. Bull had a point in three of the Green and Gold’s final four goals, finishing the contest with a career-high four points (2G, 2A).

This weekend the Lakers took on the Saint Anselm Hawks and the No. 3 ranked Adrian Bulldogs in their annual holiday tournament. The Best Western Clarion Oswego State Hockey Classic started off with a win for the Lakers against Saint Anselm. Schell recorded 14 saves in the 6-2 victory over the Hawks to bring his win total to eight on the year. Going into the championship matchup against the Bulldogs, Schell had an unbelievable game, recording 37 saves, including multiple cross-crease saves to keep the Lakers in the game. In two games, the freshman had a save percentage of .911 with 51 total saves.

In the Best Western Clarion Oswego Hockey Classic this past weekend, freshman McQuade contributed to the overall success of the No. 9 Lakers. He earned three points on the weekend, including two goals in their game against the Saint Anselm Hawks and an assist in their championship matchup against the No. 3 ranked Adrian Bulldogs. The Stittsville, Ontario product finished the weekend with a +3 rating and had seven shots in the two games.
