Both teams battled back and forth in the extra period, but it was cross-checking penalty to Potsdam that ended up being the difference maker. The Potsdam goaltender turned aside two Mustangs chances, but a shot from the blue line of the stick of Austin Johnson was laying in the crease before senior Ryan Bochert tapped it home for the win.
In goal for the Mustangs was Jared Young who continued his excellent season making 45 saves, including 21 in the second period alone.
