Southern New Hampshire (6-3-0, 4-0-0 NE10) – 1
The Mustangs skated to a 4-1 victory Saturday over host of the PAL Cup, Southern New Hampshire University. Both teams traded scoring chances in the early going of the first period, but it was Morrisville who capitalized first. Only 6:0 into the game Christian Vella scored, assisted by Ryan Bochert. Bochert picked up another assist at the 11:32 mark when Rich Hart (Liverpool, NY) lit the lamp for the first time this season.
Jestin Somero extended the lead to 3-0 1:21 into the second period. Eric Melso and Austin Johnson assisted. SNHU finally broke through at 14:14 of the second cashing in on a power-play opportunity. Late in the third the PenMen pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, but that was shut down quickly thanks to a Ben Sprague empty net goal. Jared Young made 35 saves in net for Morrisville.
