SUNY Potsdam (1-0-0 (1-0-0 NEWHL)) – 2
The Morrisville Women’s team made their North East Women’s Hockey League debut Friday night in Potsdam, NY. Despite both teams having power-play chances neither team found the back of the net in the first period. Mackenzie Lombardi scored a power-play goal at 6:35 of the second to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Potsdam scored twice in 23 seconds to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
Morrisville out shot Potsdam 16-3 in the third period (and 33-23 in the game), but could not find the tying goal. Sissy Harman made 21 saves for the Mustangs in her first collegiate start.

Canton (0-1-1 (0-1-1 NEWHL)) – 2
Morrisville State (0-1-1 (0-1-1 NEWHL)) – 2
Rhys Brown got the Mustangs on the board at 14:44 of the first period to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Canton tied it up midway through the second before Chyne Kennedy scored a power-play marker at 16:36 regaining the lead. It looked like the Mustangs were going escape with a win when Canton scored with under a minute to play forcing overtime. Morrisville again out shot their opponents, 33-19. Harman made 17 saves in the tie.
Morrisville hosts William Smith College Tuesday at 7:00pm in a non-conference game. They will follow that up with another non-conference game Friday, November 8th at Utica.
