MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The United East conference office announced its updated Presidents’ Cup standings following the 2022-23 winter season, Thursday morning, with the Mustangs moving into the top spot following a strong winter season.

The Presidents’ Cup is determined by a scoring system which rewards a school for success during both regular season and postseason competition.

Morrisville was in second after the fall among core members, claiming the 2022 United East Championship Title in two sports – men’s cross country and women’s volleyball – while finishing as the runner up in women’s cross country.

With a third title added to their year behind a second straight from women’s basketball this winter, Morrisville moved into the top spot and sits ahead of Lancaster Bible who moved up in the rankings as well to second.

“The current rankings are a testament to the work that we, as a department and institution, have invested in offering a quality student-athlete experience at Morrisville,” said Athletic Director Matt Grawrock.

“We will continue to celebrate the successes we have on the fields of competition as well as those off as we progress through our spring season.”

SUNY Morrisville’s curricula are enriched with applied learning and pave the way for opportunity at both the Morrisville and Norwich campuses. An action-oriented, interactive learning lab, the college is a national leader in technology and has been lauded for its exemplary, innovative and effective community service programs.

The college was ranked among the Best Regional Colleges in the North by U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges 2022 issue and was among the top 10 performers for social mobility, and was also recognized in the Top Public Schools, Regional Colleges North in the 2022 Best Colleges rankings.
