Hamilton College forward Ben Zimmerman ’26 (Englewood, Colo./Deerfield Academy [Mass.]) and defenseman James Philpott ’25 (Calgary, Alberta/Centennial HS) have been selected for the 2023 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men’s Hockey All-Conference Team.

Zimmerman was voted the NESCAC Rookie of the Year and both he and Philpott made the second team. Zimmerman is the third rookie of the year from Hamilton since 2000. A total of 12 athletes were honored on the all-conference team.

Zimmerman is fourth in the NESCAC with 16 assists and tied for fourth with 23 points in 24 games played. He is also tied for third with three game-winning goals. The winger recorded seven multi-point games against conference opponents including two goals in a 3-1 win against Trinity College on Dec. 2, a goal and two assists in a 4-3 victory at Connecticut College on Jan. 13, and a goal and two helpers in a 3-1 triumph against Colby College on Feb. 3.

Philpott is tied for 17th in the NESCAC with 11 assists. He led the Continentals and tied for 10th in the conference with a plus/minus rating of plus-11. Philpott recorded two goals and an assist at Wesleyan University on Dec. 3 and boasted four helpers in a 4-3 win at Connecticut College on Jan. 13.

Hamilton ended up with a 13-10-2 record and finished in fourth place in the NESCAC standings at 11-5-2. The Continentals hosted a conference championship quarterfinal for the sixth time in the last eight years.
