The Utica Jr. Comets Premier team improved to 7-3-1 with a 4-0 win against the Jersey Hitmen this afternoon. Utica outshot Jersey 39-16 and received goals from four different players. Cameron Manley earned the shutout stopping 16 Hitmen shots.
After a 0-0 first period, Noah Ciancio scored his first of the season 2:47 into the second period. Chase Cummings and William Haigley picked up the helpers. Caleb Turner doubled the lead to 2-0 with a short handed tally at 9:57 with the only assist being given to Teito Ishigaki. The special teams continued rolling, this time on the power-play. At 14:43 of the period JD Speer increased the Comets lead to 3-0. Assisting on the Speer marker were Turner and Jeremy McDonald.
Jude Cole added another power play goal at 16:23 of the third assisted by Turner and Speer.
The teams face-off again at 2:15pm on Thursday at the Adirondack Bank Center.
