ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Colgate women’s hockey team put a stamp on a historic opening weekend by setting multiple records in a 13-0 victory over RIT on Saturday.
After unveiling their ECAC Hockey regular season and tournament championship banners en route to an 8-1 win over RIT on Friday, the sixth-ranked Raiders one-upped that performance by striking lucky No. 13 in Saturday’s return game in Rochester to complete the weekend sweep.
Colgate had eight different goal scorers, seven different players register an assist, and 13 different players record a point in Saturday’s thumping.
Two Raiders netted hat tricks, as Dara Greig (4g, 1a) and Kalty Kaltounkova (3g, 2a) each recorded five points. Danielle Serdachny dished a program-record six assists in the win.

- Most goals in a game (13). Previous-high 11 vs. Utica (1/19/2002)

Colgate scored five goals in the first and second periods, one shy of the program record. Greig potted four of those in the opening stanza, scoring the first two and last two. It was 3-0 Raiders inside the first eight minutes and that was only the beginning.
Five different Raiders (Delani MacKay, Kaltounkova, Allyson Simpson, Darcie Lappan, and Katie Chan) found the back of the net in the second period. Kaltounkova capped off her hat trick with two goals in the third period.
The Raiders outscored the Tigers 21-1 on the weekend, and their lone goal conceded came seven minutes into the first period of Friday’s opener. Colgate scored 21 unanswered over the final five-plus periods.
