AHCA Women’s D3 All-America release
Kuhns is one of six athletes on the first team in the East Region while Loh is one of six players on the second team in the East. The all-America honor is the first for both and brings the total to six in Hamilton women’s hockey team history. Five Continentals have made the all-America team.
Kuhns – a defender – was voted the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year earlier this month. She is tied for the team lead with 15 assists and is third with 22 points in 29 games. Six of her seven goals have been scored on the power play. She leads the Continentals with a plus/minus rating of plus-25 and in blocked shots with 33.
Loh is wrapping up a prolific offensive career as a left winger at Hamilton. This season she leads the team with 21 goals, including eight game-winning tallies, and 27 points in 29 games. Loh is 15th in Division III in goals per game and tied for first in game-winners. Her plus/minus rating is plus-15. The 21 goals are the most scored by a Continental since Katie Zimmerman ’13 finished with the same amount 10 seasons ago. Loh is fifth all-time at Hamilton with 56 goals. She also has 40 assists for 96 points in 103 games.
The nationally ranked No. 6 Continentals (22-5-2 overall) have set a team record with 22 wins this season. Hamilton advanced to the NESCAC championship final for the first time and is making its first appearance in the NCAA championship. The Continentals play at Amherst College in the national semifinals on Friday, March 17 after defeating Nazareth College 3-1 in the first round and Adrian College 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
