Kearney Named Director of Women’s Hockey Operations

HAMILTON – Colgate women’s hockey head coach Greg Fargo announced that Ryan Kearney has joined the staff as the Director of Women’s Hockey Operations.

Kearney was previously with the Ontario Jr. Reign Hockey Team of the USPHL, a junior A hockey program in Ontario, California. While with the Reign he was in charge of scheduling, scouting USPHL combine events, travel logistics, scouting and analysis reports, and InStat video analysis with coaching staff and players.

Kearney also brings experience from the USHL with his work for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders Hockey Club, where he led the charge for the internship program, media relations, ticking systems, merchandise, and game operations.

When Kearney is not in the office, he is working on the two podcasts he hosts, Roadie on the Horn and Front Office U based around the sports industry.

In his role as the Director of Women’s Hockey Operations, Kearney is responsible for planning and organizing all aspects of team travel including transportation, hotels and meals. During games, Kearney serves as the video coordinator by live coding and communicating with the coaching staff regarding in-game video replay challenges.

Kearney, is a 2021 graduate of The University of Iowa with a Bachelors in Marketing-Analytics and a minor in Sport and Recreation Management.

“Ryan’s background has prepared him well for this role and he is eager to make his own stamp at Colgate,” said Fargo. “Ryan’s passion for athletics and the student-athlete experience will have a direct and positive impact in our hockey environment. I look forward to working together as we continue to enhance various aspects of the Colgate experience for our student-athletes.”
