Hamilton (1-0-0, 1-0-0 NESCAC) – 3
Amherst (0-1-0, 0-1-0 NESCAC) – 2
After being down 2-0, Hamilton scored three unanswered goals in a 23 minute span to topple Amherst 3-2. It was the season opener for both teams. Amherst scored on the power-play at 10:56 of the first taking a 1-0 lead into intermission. They doubled their lead only 1:10 into the second period.
Jess Haviland broke the ice for the Continentals at 17:56 of the second. Missy Segall recorded an assist on the goal. Kate Piacenza scored an unassisted goal at 11:19 of the third tying the game at two goals a piece. Maddie Hong scored the game winner with 5:24 remaining in the third.
After winning a neutral zone puck battle, Hong passed the puck ahead to Nany Loh who was racing into the offensive zone. Loh took a defender wide before firing a shot on goal. Hong was there to bang home the rebound. It was her first collegiate goal.
Gab Venne was in goal for Hamilton and finished with 22 saves on 24 shots.

Hamilton (1-1-0, 1-1-0 NESCAC) – 3
Amherst (1-1-0, 1-1-0 NESCAC) – 4
A wild third period ended with Amherst evening the weekend series following a 4-3 defeat of the Continentals. This time it was Hamilton taking the lead and Amherst rallying back for the win.
At 13:05 of the first period Abby Kuhns scored an unassisted goal to put her team ahead 1-0. Amherst tied the game at 8:04 of the second setting a stage for a wild and crazy third period.
After falling behind 2-1, Hamilton scored two goals 30 seconds apart to take a 3-2 lead with just over ten minutes to play in the game. Following a scramble in front of the net Mya Berretta was able to find the puck and slide it into the net to tie the game. Hamilton took the lead on a goal credited to Loh. The Amherst goalie unknowingly dragged the puck over the goal line while it was trapped under her pads.
Amherst was able to tie the game with 6:56 remaining off a rebound. Amherst scored the game winner with less than three minutes remaining. Venne was in net again and finished with 30 saves.
Hamilton is back on the road for two more NESCAC games at Williams College this weekend. Games are scheduled for 7pm Friday and 3pm Saturday.
