Hamilton College forward Matt Gellerman ’24 (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./South St. Paul Sr. HS) was selected the NESCAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The honor is the first for Gellerman, who recorded three points in the Continentals’ 4-1 conference win at Williams College on Friday, Dec. 10. The multi-point game is his first at Hamilton as the Continentals defeated the Ephs for the fifth straight time.
Gellerman scored a power-play goal midway through the first period for a 1-0 lead, helped give Hamilton a two-goal cushion with a secondary assist early in the second, and tallied the Continentals’ fourth goal of the night late in the period. He’s tied for second in the NESCAC with five goals and tied for 10th with seven points.
Gellerman and the Hamilton men are 4-2-0 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Continentals play host Norwich University in the 2022 Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament on New Year’s Day at 7 p.m. The event’s consolation and championship games will be on Sunday, Jan. 2.
