SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange will kick off the 2021-22 season with an exhibition game at RPI on Sunday, September 19th. The regular season begins with a pair of weekend games at St. Lawrence on October 1st and 2nd.

For the home-opener, the Orange will host Clarkson on October 7th as the first event of the Kickoff Weekend for the Celebration of 50 Years of Syracuse University Women’s Athletics. The year-long celebration will recognize all female student-athletes who have donned the Block S to represent Syracuse University and the Athletics Department since 1971-72 to embrace the history and to acknowledge those who have gone before us to set the standard we strive to achieve today so we can pave the way for the future.

The non-conference portion of the season will continue with alternating home and away games, beginning with a game at Clarkson (10/9). Syracuse will host Union on Oct. 12th and Colgate on Oct. 16th with a game at Colgate in between on Oct. 14th.

A weekend series at Lindenwood kicks off the College Hockey America schedule on Oct. 22nd and 23rd. Syracuse opens the home portion of the CHA schedule on November 5th against R.I.T. before playing the Tigers in Rochester on November 6th. After a non-conference game at Cornell on November 9th, the Orange return home to host Penn State on November 19th and 20th.

A series at Vermont on November 26th and 27th is followed by back-to-back home weekends when the Orange will host Mercyhurst (Dec. 3rd & 4th) and Princeton (Dec. 10th and 11th).

The Orange will ring in 2022 at the Battle at the ‘Burgh, playing Boston University on Jan. 1 and the winner of the other first round game between Penn State and St. Cloud on Jan. 2 in Pittsburgh. Syracuse will then play at Minnesota State on Jan. 7th and 8th before resuming the CHA schedule for the next four weeks. Syracuse will play a home-and-home series against R.I.T. on Jan 21st and 22nd, followed by a home series against Lindenwood on Jan. 28th and 29th. The Orange will close the CHA portion of the regular season with back-to-back road series at Penn State (Feb. 4th and 5th) and at Mercyhurst (Feb. 11th and 12th).

The 2021-22 team returns four CHA All-Conference honorees including fifth-year senior Jessica DiGirolamo, senior Abby Moloughney, fifth-year senior Allison Small and sophomore Hannah Johnson. DiGirolamo was the 2021 CHA Defenseman of the Year and an All-CHA First Team selection, while Moloughney earned CHA Best Defensive Forward honors.  Moloughney and Small were named to the All-CHA Second Team and Johnson earned a spot on the CHA All-Rookie Team.
