Colton Point, who decided to leave Colgate University after his sophomore season, got his first taste of NHL action last night in a preseason game against the Minnesota Wild. Point stopped 12 of 13 shots in a period and a half of action. The Dallas Stars won the game 3-1.
The only goal Point allowed was off a beautiful deflection by Zach Parise. You can watch the goal around the 1:30 mark in the video below. Following the goal there are a few clips showing some saves by Point.
Stars gets past Wild with two third-period goals
Justin Dowling scored the go-ahead goal for the Dallas Stars with 4:06 remaining in a 3-1 win against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.
In a post-game interview posted on NHL.com Point was all smiles talking about his first NHL preseason game.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling. I’m super happy that we won. Obviously, that’s the main thing. I’m happy with how I played.”
