HAMILTON— The Raiders scored two goals in each period on Saturday as they topped Brown 6-0 at the Class of 1965 Arena.

Griffin Lunn led the Raiders with three points off of two goals and an assist. It was the junior’s first three-point game of the season.

Levi Glasman put the Raiders up 1-0 just over eight minutes into the game when he intercepted a Brown pass and slotted a shot past the Bears’  goaltender.

Later in the period, Lunn hit a one-timer off a pass from  Elliott McDermott,  as the Raiders doubled their lead.

In the second period Colgate scored two more, starting with Matt Verboon threading a pass to Alex DiPaolo who tapped it in on a spinning attempt. Five minutes later, Nick Anderson found Verboon who passed to Josh McKechney who put in his shot from close up to make it 3-0 Raiders.

Lunn scored his second of the game when DiPaolo passed ahead to him and he finished it off on a breakaway. Nic Belpedio topped off the scoring with just under eight minutes remaining in the game when he found the back of the net off a pass from Ross Mitton.

Colgate dominated in shots at 39-13. The Bears’ 13 shots marked the lowest amount the Raiders have given up this season. Colgate was also in control in the faceoff circle, going 39-61.

FROM THE SOURCE

Head Coach Don Vaughan

“It was our most complete game of the season. We executed on the power play and the same thing with our penalty kill. We knew Brown would come with a big push to start the third and when they did Carter made the saves he needed to make. We had contributions up and down our lineup tonight and I was particularly happy for Griffin Lunn who was sidelined for a few weeks with an injury and is finding his game again. As always, we will enjoy it tonight because it’s hard to win, and then hit the reset button tomorrow and get back to work on Monday.”
