CANTON, N.Y. — Colgate scored in all three periods to earn a 4-1 win over St. Lawrence Saturday.

Alex Young and Ben Raymond each tallied two points in the game, with Young notching a goal and an assit and Raymond recording a pair of assists.

Ethan Manderville got Colgate on the board when he scored 8:25 into the game to put the Raiders up 1-0. Pierson Brandon fired a shot that the Saints’ goalie bobbled. Manderville found the loose puck in front of the net and finished off a shot.

The Raiders scored twice in the second to extend their lead to three. Just under eight minutes in, Raymond skated ahead with the puck before tapping it back to Ryan McGuire, who skated in and fired a shot that tapped off the right post and went in.

Five minutes later, Matt Verboon found the back of the net. Alex Young deked out a Saints’ defender and skated down the ice before playing a short pass to Verboon for a shot he tapped into the goal.

St. Lawrence got one back with six minutes remaining in the game when Jordan Steinmetz slipped a shot into the goal.

The Raiders picked up back-to-back penalty kills in the first, which included a 37-second period of five-on-three after Ross Mitton and Alex Young each got sent to the box.

Carter Gylander made 14 saves in the opening period to keep the Saints off the board. The junior made five stops in the second and 17 in the third en route to a 36-save night.

The Raiders dominated the Saints in the second period, outshooting them 17-5. Colgate had one other power play in the period, coming at the 10:58 mark. The Raiders also picked up another big penalty kill as Colgate’s PK unit kept St. Lawrence’s power play scoreless.

Both teams finished with 37 shots in the game. The Saints held a narrow edge in the faceoff circle going 33-32.
