CANTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women’s Hockey team traveled to Canton for a conference matchup against the Kangaroos this evening. The Lakers were unable to capitalize on their power plays this evening, going 0-7 on the night, as they fell short to the Kangaroos.

Final Score: Oswego State 0 (12-8-1, 9-4-1 NEWHL), Canton 2 (11-7-2, 5-7-1 NEWHL)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After one, the score would remain tied at zero. The period was very even, with both teams getting ten shots on goal, and each team earning a power play. Lexi Levy recorded ten saves in the first period
After two, the score would still be tied at zero. The Lakers started to get more aggressive on offense, getting off more accurate shots than the Kangaroos.. Oswego had seven more shots on goal than Canton in the period. Levy recorded ten more saves, bringing her total to 20 through two periods.
Canton would break the tie just four minutes into the final period. The Lakers trailed the Kangaroos by one.
Canton scored their second goal with less than seven minutes remaining in the final period.
The Lakers would fall to the Kangaroos by two. Lexi Levy finished with 28 saves this evening.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Lakers will travel to Potsdam tomorrow afternoon to take on the Bears. The puck drop is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, February 4th.
