Senior Shelby Calof is the College Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for her performance in Syracuse’s games at Mercyhurst. The Orange beat the Lakers 4-1 on Saturday to clinch the CHA regular season championship. Calof tallied an assist in the victory. She has eight assists this season and 23 in her career. The defenseman from Ottawa has had a goal or an assist in six of the last 12 games for the Orange.
The CHA regular season championship is the first in the 14-year history of the Syracuse program. The Orange earned the top seed in the 2022 CHA Tournament and will host the event on February 24th through February 26th at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. The final seeding will be determined after all CHA regular season games are played on February 19.

50 YEARS OF SYRACUSE WOMEN’S ATHLETICS
Orange alumni, fans and friends are invited to share in a year-long celebration of 50 years of Syracuse University women’s athletics. Events and special recognition of all female student-athletes who have donned the Block S to represent Syracuse University and the Athletics Department since 1971-72 will be held throughout the 2021-22 seasons. As we celebrate this history, we acknowledge those who have gone before us to set the standard we strive to achieve today so we can pave the way for the future. We reflect on the history of women in sport, admire their sacrifices, recognize their contributions and accomplishments, and honor their legacy.
