Senior Lauren Bellefontaine is the College Hockey America (CHA) Foward of the Month for December. The Kemptville, Ontario native ranks second in the nation in faceoffs and leads the Orange faceoff unit that ranks 13th nationally and leads the CHA. In four games in December, she won 61 percent of her faceoffs, scored two goals on eight shots, had one assist and three blocks.
Bellefontaine starts on Syracuse’s power play unit that ranked seventh nationally and led the CHA and the penalty kill unit that was 12th in the country and led the CHA in December.
In her 116 game Syracuse career, Bellefontaine has recorded 73 points, including 27 goals and 46 assists. Her six game-winning goals is tied for seventh in program history.

Syracuse will play a weekend series at Minnesota State on Friday, Jan. 7th (4 pm) and Saturday, Jan. 8th (3 pm). Both games will be streamed via Big Ten +. The Orange return home for a weekend home-and-home series against CHA opponent RIT at Tennity Ice Pavilion on Friday, Jan. 21st (7 pm) and at RIT on Saturday, Jan. 22nd (3 pm).
