OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Women’s Hockey team took on the Amherst Mammoths this evening at home. Amherst got up early and the Lakers were never able to rally back. 

THE BASICS

Final Score: Oswego State 0 (8-5, 6-2 NEWHL), Amherst 3 (9-1) 

Location: Deborah F. Stanley Arena & Convocation Hall, Oswego, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED

Halfway through the first period, Amherst got on the board first, giving them a one point lead.

The score would remain 1-0 through the first period, Goalie Lexi Levy had seven saves in the period.

Seven minutes into the second period, the Mammoths would score their second goal of the evening, giving them a two point lead over the Lakers.

Amherst would hold a two point lead over Oswego going into the third period. Levy added nine more saves in the second period, bringing her total to 16 through two.

Late in the third, Oswego pulled their goalie in hopes to cut the lead to just one. AMherst would score on the empty net, giving them a three point lead over Oswego.

The women would fall by a score of 3-0. Lexi Levy finished with 15 saves in the third period, bringing her total to 31 on the evening. 

WHAT’S NEXT

The Lakers will return home on Friday, January 6th for a conference matchup against the Potsdam Bears. Come out and show support to the Lakers on Girl’s Hockey Day!
